Dear Parents:
In an effort to keep all of our children and parents safe during arrival and dismissal, we are asking everyone to follow these procedures and precautions when dropping off or picking up students at school:
Student Arrival: No Child may be dropped off prior to 8:30 AM
All cars must enter the rear (south) parking lot; you will notice a Student Drop-Off sign located near the Reading Garden. Please proceed in a line to drop off your child one car at a time. In the morning, drop off students at curbside only and have students only exit on the right side of cars! When exiting the lot, be careful of other cars pulling out. There will be staff at this location to assist students into the building.
If you are dropping off projects, supplies, etc., please park in the rear (south) parking lot and walk your child into school. This will ensure that cars are not blocked in the drop off area and can flow freely.
Student Dismissal:
If you do not sign your child out by 2:45pm, you will have to wait until dismissal time at 3:15. This will allow for an organized and safe dismissal for our students and not disrupt the end of day within the classroom.
Once buses start to arrive, no students or parents will be able to pass through the line of buses to get to your vehicles.
Parking for pick-up will be in the southern parking lot.
If a parent’s car is parked in the northern lot for any reason, they will have to wait until our buses depart before crossing the parking lot or walk around to the end of the line of buses to get to your car.
School buses will have the right of way in the northern parking lot and cars should not interfere with their egress.
Be sure to send in a note or call the main office and speak to office personnel if you will be picking your child up from school. Do not leave this information in our voice message system.
We are requesting that all parents and guardians heed these procedures. It will assist us greatly in making sure children and parents are safe at all times.
BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU ARE RUNNING LATE. A FEW EXTRA MINUTES COULD MAKE THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SAFETY AND AN ACCIDENT!
Very truly,
Michael J. McGovern
