School Arrival and Departure Procedures
Dear Family,
In an effort to keep all of our children and parents safe during arrival and dismissal, we are asking everyone to follow these procedures and precautions when dropping off or picking up students at school.
Student Arrival: No student may be dropped off prior to 8:30 am.
All cars must enter the southern parking lot; you will notice a Student Drop-Off sign and markings located near the Reading Garden.
Please proceed in a single line to drop-off your child one car at a time.
Please drop off students at the curbside only and have students only exit on the right side of the car.
When exiting the lot, be careful of other cars pulling out.
There will be staff and our Class III Officer to assist you at this location and to assist students into the building.
Any students arriving after 8:45 a.m., parent must park their car and escort them to the front door. Please do not just drop them off in the southern parking lot unattended.
Student Dismissal:
If you do not sign your child out by 2:45pm, you will have to wait until dismissal time at 3:15pm. This will allow for an organized and safe dismissal for our students and not disrupt the end of day within the classroom.
Arriving at Dwyer to Pick-Up your child:
Pick-up will be conducted in the alcove on the side of the building across from the CAD painted trailer in the southern parking lot.
Please park in this lot only.
Please make sure you have identification with you when coming to pick-up a student. It will need to be provided until our staff can visually identify you.
Staff will call you up to the door one by one.
Please display your identification and wait at the door.
A staff member will bring your child directly to the door.
Once reunited, please proceed back to your car and do not congregate.
I will have our Class III Officer available to assist our staff and provide direction where needed.
Permanent Parent Pick-Up
If you are picking up your child (children) every day, please send in a note the first day they are in school and we will put them on the permanent parent pick-up list. This way you will not have to send in a note every day.
If you need to send them home on the bus for a day, you will have to send in a note on that specific day.
Single Day Parent Pick-Up
If your child (children) take the bus and you need to pick them up one day, please send in a note in the AM and we will put them on the all call list for 3:15pm.
In the event of an emergency during the day and you need to pick them up, please call the office at 973-361-7450 option #4, and speak with a person in the office to ensure we have received the information.
Please do not leave a message since sometimes we do not get our messages right away.
Children Normally Attending the YMCA and Taking the Bus Home
If your child (children) go the YMCA for aftercare and you need them to take the bus home, please send in a note on that specific day and we will try to accommodate putting them on a bus.
We are requesting that all parents and guardians heed these procedures. It will assist us greatly in making sure children and parents are safe at all times
